Pressure Washing in Shrewsbury: Patios, Driveways & Paths

Moss, algae and grime cleaned off patios, block paving driveways, paths and steps across Shrewsbury, Wem and Oswestry, plus Telford and Ellesmere – so tired paving looks cared for again.

Bringing tired paving back to life

Shropshire's damp weather means paving in shady or north-facing spots soon turns green, dark and slippery. A thorough clean can make a patio or drive look years younger, and it often shows whether the paving itself is sound or needs repair.

The Green Team cleans patios, block paving driveways, paths and steps. We look at the surface and its condition first, because heavily stained areas, sandstone and older pointing need a different approach from a sound concrete or porcelain surface.

Before you book pressure washing

Things worth knowing:

  • Not every surface takes full pressure: natural sandstone is softer than porcelain, and loose or crumbling pointing can be washed out. The method needs to suit the surface.
  • Heavy staining and algae: some stains or heavy growth need a treatment as well as washing. That affects the time and the price, so we check it at the site visit.
  • Shady areas re-green: moss and algae come back fastest where paving stays damp. Regular cleaning keeps it under control.
  • Cleaning can't fix movement: if slabs rock, have sunk or are cracked, cleaning will show it up but not cure it. Relaying the affected area may be the better long-term answer.

Pressure washing questions

Can you clean a block paving driveway?

Yes. We clean block paving driveways, patios, paths and steps. After cleaning, block paving joints usually need re-filling with kiln-dried sand, which we'll discuss at the site visit.

Will pressure washing damage my patio?

The method needs to suit the surface – sandstone and older pointing need a gentler approach than porcelain or concrete. We look at the paving before we start.

How much does pressure washing cost?

It depends on the size, access, condition and whether a treatment is needed. Our online quote assistant gives a guide price, and the final price is in a fixed written quotation after the free site visit.
