Gardens get away from people for all sorts of reasons – a busy few years, a new house with a neglected plot, or a property being got ready to sell or let. The Green Team clears gardens of any size: cutting back overgrowth, removing weeds, old paving and rubbish, and taking the waste away.

Once a garden is clear, it's much easier to decide what you want from it. If you'd like to go further, we can follow the clearance with turf, paths, a patio or a complete landscaping project – or simply leave it tidy and manageable.

Planning a garden clearance

Points that affect the time and the price:

  • Access: whether there is side access or everything has to come through the house makes a big difference to how long a clearance takes. We check this at the site visit.
  • What's being removed: green waste, soil, rubble and old paving are handled differently. Tell us what's there and we'll price the removal into the quotation.
  • Old sheds and garages: if a roof or panels might contain asbestos, it needs a specialist survey and removal. Please mention any old outbuildings when you enquire.
  • Nesting birds: it's an offence to damage or destroy an active bird's nest. The main nesting season runs from about March to August, so hedges should be checked before cutting, and bigger hedge reductions are usually best planned for autumn or winter.

Can you clear a garden before we sell or let the property?

Yes. We can clear and tidy the garden so it's presentable, or prepare it for new turf or paving.

Is the quote free?

Yes. We visit, look at the garden and what needs removing, and send a fixed written quotation – we aim to send it within 48 hours of the visit.

Can you landscape the garden after clearing it?

Yes. Many clearances lead on to turf, paths, patios or a full makeover, and we can plan both together.
